Forty-six fighting cocks were seized, along with razor-sharp fighting implements which the birds use to kick and slash at each other, often to the death. The birds were euthanized.
The tenant of the property, Rolando Carbajal, 47, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of possession of fighting cocks, authorities said.
The operation was discovered when detectives from the Fallbrook substation went to an adjacent property on a probation search. At that location, Blanca Campos, 39, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said.
